What Think Ye of Christ? - Bishop J. C. Ryle

I always feel reading the tracts and sermons of J.C. Ryle, he was speaking to the people of his time and that his words have more meaning in our time. He could be classified as one of those people who were ahead of their time and have it not be a platitude.

Removing the factionalism from his writing (the old High vs Low Church debate), there was a depth of understanding that he held for the direction in which Anglicanism was headed. I will refrain from saying much more as this post is dedicated to a tract on Christmas and will keep the editorializing to a minimum, but find how much of what he says applies to some of the problems in the AC today, but here is an example:
